The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles by Katherine Pancol
Personally I found such candid talk refreshing but then again, I am a guy jaknes we do have a different view on such things most of the time. And, of course, there’s Antoine, struggling in Kenya. Her girls do shift back and forth — perhaps a bit too easily — between what they value and the life-lessons they learn, with even Hortense coming, more or less, to her senses, but a lot of what is said and goes on here is unpleasant and disturbing — not helped by the fact that Pancol shows no interest in exploring anything in depth.
Croccodiles Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles is a somewhat frustrating, very light read, with too many ees too many of which are underdeveloped bouncing around. Katherine Pancol is divorced and has two grown children. At times it was all kind of silly, but mostly it was fun.
Readers may note, however, that Rodarmor shares equal translation-billing with another translator, Helen Dickinson — unmentioned by Pancol.

View all 27 comments. I’m not a fan of women defining themselves purely on the opinions of others. For years he’d been obsessed with Iris, wanting only to please and impress her. You know where this book is headed and at time you just want it to get there faster. And fun is just right sometimes. There are a bunch of subplots as well, all filled with kooky people and circumstances.

Surprise, surprise – I didn’t have any trouble keeping them all straight. The plot of the novel might read like a typical chic-lit or women’s novel formula. William did more than translate the book.

I found dds very invested in the characters and fervently rooting for some justice at the kaatherine and for things to turn out just so. Trust me, it is. Among the few storylines that are presented relatively straightforwardly is Antoine’s crocodile farm misadventure.
