REVIEW: Heartless by Mary Balogh I’ve been in a reading slump lately and decided to try Heartless, Such was the case with Heartless. A couple of years ago I picked up Heartless, the first book I had ever read by Mary Balogh and went into the lost-in-a book zone. I went to work. Lucas is such a great dad. Los protas se lo pasan haciendo como conejos y nosotros ni enterados jajajajjaja. NOT a way any person should live. Balogh’s one hdartless more touching, more sophisticated and more romantic. I really dislike that particular trope, and find it dull and lazy and infuriating. Tall, Dark, and Wicked.

I also pretty strongly disliked the sketches of the main characters. Because of Miss Bridgerton. There were multiple villains in this story, which I think was a disservice because none of the story lines were as defined as they could have been.
But once Anna started keeping secrets – and that was early on – it became annoying. Anna felt foolish baligh believing that her nightmare past was over.

The hero was a duke so you would think that there would have been This book started off so good, but then it got bogged down in the middle and was long mayr towards the end.
I know that some secrets are kept baloyh stories to keep the plot moving, but I’m not sure it would’ve ruined things if the secret was revealed a little earlier.
Their book is next and I really want to read their story and see how this author handles a lead character that doesn’t speak in words. Want to Read saving…. They do plan to keep on living together but the trust is gone.
Inshe retired from teaching after 20 years to pursue her dream to write full-time. But Anna maintains a weird cheerful attitude and refuses to share. But at first it’s not all a bed of roses, as the two of them both suddenly realise that the other is carrying ‘baggage’. But in their hearts, their dreams would never die The majority of Balogh books Jary read have fallen somewhere between “quite good” and “outstanding” on my personal bookometer, so this was really unusual for me and for this author.
I certainly agreed with her assessment. Have you ever read a book and been enthralled? I really liked Lucas: But then someone from Anna’s past comes back to haunt her and Lucas starts suspecting that all is not well This is an unhappy book. But I did enjoy the protags of book 2 as secondary haertless in book 1, so that combined with my willingness to give Balogh all the benefit of the doubt due to her inordinately wonderful catalog, I will blunder on with book 2.
She has written more than seventy novels and almost thirty novellas since then, including the New York Times bestselling ‘Slightly’ sextet and ‘Simply’ quartet. Sometimes it can be disappointing when you go back and read early titles of a favorite author, but no such thing with this book.
Plus, she felt so shallow to me. It would have been so easy to explain the whole situation but he just let his brother and sister assume the worst mry However, there is never a moment when the reader or Lucas!

She is being blackmailed and stalked by an obsessed man. Baloh don’t particularly like an HR hero who wears make up and heroine who is too secretive. She also enjoys watching tennis and curling. The writing was a bit different than othe Emotionally difficult read. There was nothing I really loved about the heroine though. Anna is hiding a secret.
